New Winemaker at Woollaston Estates |

Woollaston Estates is delighted to announce the appointment of Shane Munn as its new winemaker, with an official start date of October 1, 2011.
Shane has degrees in both Wine Science (Oenology) and Mathematics and has spent seven years in senior winemaking positions. For the last three years he has been winemaker at The Millton Vineyards in Gisborne, the first NZ winegrower to be certified organic by BioGro NZ. Shane has also held winemaking positions in Central Otago, Hawkes Bay, Italy and Canada.
‘Shane will be a great addition to the Woollaston team,≠ according to General Manager Scott Ingram. ‘As winemaker at one of New Zealand≠s leading organic/biodynamic vineyards he has demonstrated a deep commitment to the values and winemaking philosophy that we share, and has produced some splendid wines.
‘He will be working closely with our vineyard manager, Julian Coakley, who introduced biodynamic techniques to Woollaston Estates and has taken our vineyards through the transition to full organic certification. We look forward to the great wines they will produce together.≠
Shane is relocating to Nelson with his wife and young family shortly and will take up his new position at the start of October. He replaces Andrew Sutherland, who left Woollaston Estates at the end of June.
